Ballet Under the Stars, 10th Anniversary Year.

The Covent Garden Dance Company celebrates a decade of dance with the 10th Anniversary of staging ‘Ballet Under the Starsthis July at Hatch House. This year for the very first time they will be opening a fourth night.

Opening up a fourth night, for the first time ever, is testament to the appeal and magic of this event, which has really captured the imagination of everyone this year. The programme is always a beautiful mix of classical, neo-classical and contemporary ballet and 2019 will be no exception. The line-up of world class dancers is truly exceptional boasting stars that include Xander Parish OBE, Principal of the The Mariinsky Ballet, Steven McRae and Lauren Cuthbertson, both Principals with The Royal Ballet and Ksenia Ovsyanick, Principal Staatsballett Berlin. Mara Galeazzi, Gabriele Corrado from La Scala Ballet, Iker Murillo and Vitali Safronkine return to the stage for 2019 too.

We can now also confirm that Vasko Vasillev, Concert Master of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and internationally renowned violinist joins the cast appearing at Hatch House this July.

Covent Garden Dance has built up a huge, loyal following, achieved by the company’s ability to createstunning programmes that combine fine dining in an incredible location with a sublime mixed-bill of dance. This clever combination makes Ballet Under the Stars an intimate evening and one of the most memorable of experiences. The simple fact is that no one leaves without falling in love with thismagical evening, it’s spellbinding and bursts every misconception about dance. Little wonder it’s considered the ‘Glyndebourne of Ballet’.
